A BRIEF HISTORY
- September, 1973 Princes Town Junior Secondary was housed at the San Fernando East Secondary School.
- September, 1974 moved to its present location in St. Julien Village. Contractor was Fred Chin Lee.
- 1st Principal – Mr. Winston Jeffers who after many years went on to serve in a higher capacity as Director of School Supervision, Ministry Of Education.
- First two Vice Principals – Ms. Alva Ferraz (am shift) and Mr. Wesley Ramjattan (pm shift)
- Past Vice Principals – Dr R. Peters, R. Maharaj, Mr. W. Martang (dec.) & Mr. P. Allard, Ms. Maria Dingwell, Dr. Renwick Paul

- Mission – The school is committed to providing our students with appropriate skills in an atmosphere of trust, acceptance and understanding so that they can develop to maximize their potential and contribute to productive work and meaningful living in a multicultural society.

- 1997 – Pilot school for NCSE exams.
- First ever Presidents Medal awarded to the student scoring the highest marks at the NCSE examinations was awarded to Vishana Roopwah of 3.2pm of Princes Town Junior Secondary School. At present she is a student at the U.W.I.
- 2008 – De-shifted and Converted. Princes Town Junior Secondary is now Princes Town East Secondary School.
- 2010 – First Batch of pupils wrote the CSEC examinations.
- 2010 – Introduction of single sex education. First cohort of all-girls in form 1 moved into phase one of the newly constructed school.
- No. of teachers – 51 (male : 17 , female : 34)
- No. of students – 475
- Upon completion P.T.E.S.S would have a capacity of 875 pupils, 175 on each level.
- Catchment Areas – Princes Town, Moruga, Manahambre, New Grant, Indian Walk, Cedar Hill, Jordan Hill, Iere Village, St. Madeline, Brothers` Rd. etc.
2015 - The school was officially opened by the Honourable Dr. Tim Gopeesingh - Minister of Education on the 19th August, 2015.
SPORTS
- PTESS rated high in Track & Field performance from 2002 to 2012. We were champion School, Champion Junior Girls, Champion Junior Boys, Champion
Senior Boys & Girls. Won many medals and trophies too numerous to mention. - In The Field of Netball, won trophies in Individual& Team shooting. Placed 3rd at National level in The Champion of Champions Match with transfer to the new building there were set backs in training programme for 2013
- In the field of Cricket at present PTESS has two students making the West Indies Team. They are Melissa Aguillera and Kevon Cooper.
- March Past ( Track & Field) Princes Town ESS is always in the top three schools.
